A BRADFORD-based fast-food restaurant has opened its second branch in the city ahead of a national rollout.

Moodys welcomed its first customers to its latest branch on Leeds Road on Monday, August 14.

It comes six months after its first site opened at the Fieldhead Shopping Centre on Legrams Lane.

The site offers customers a choice of popular dishes including burgers, wraps, peri peri chicken, fried chicken, signature burgers, pizzas, and desserts.

A selection of Moodshakes is also available with Kinder, Biscoff and Cookie Dough milkshake options available. The firm’s Leeds Road branch opened to customers at 11am on its first day.

The new Leeds Road site, which is over one floor, is similar in style to the firm’s Legrams Lane restaurant but will have 30 seats, compared to the first branch which has 100 seats over two floors, plus a prayer room available for customers.

The Leeds Road restaurant features a large touchscreen self-ordering system and an order and collect area.

Moodys is the latest food venture from the Icestone Group, which also operates stores under the Icestone Desserts and Mi Chaii brands in Bradford and beyond.

The franchise business model means other branches are set to open across the North West of England, the Midlands and East London.

Mab Hussain, Icestone chief executive, said business started well for his company’s new site.

He said: “It’s good, it’s busy. We’re adding another brand to the road (on Leeds Road).

“We have sold seven franchises – in East London, Manchester and Birmingham. By next year, fingers crossed, we will have opened up seven branches.

“Within six months, to open two branches is a big achievement.

“When people come to Moodys they can expect nice food, fast and good customer service. We have a self-ordering system, a lot of people don’t have that.

“Most of the recipes are made in-house, the beef burgers and marinades, are made in-house. Our cheeseburgers are very good, they are our speciality.”

The Icestone Group began by opening its first shop on Great Horton Road in March 2013.

Since then, the group has expanded and now has sites across the country including in Liverpool, Chester, and London.

Meanwhile, Mi Chaii, which sells breakfast dishes such as omelettes, desserts, and teas, has sites in areas including Bradford, Birmingham, and Glasgow.

Moodys on Legrams Lane is open Monday to Sunday between 11am and 3.30am.

Meanwhile, the Leeds Road branch is open Monday to Sunday between 11am and 11pm.
