A YELLOW rain warning has been issued for Bradford this Monday.

The weather has remained fairly warm and dry over the weekend but that is set to change as we enter a new week, according to the Met Office.

The Government agency has predicted heavy rain to hit the Bradford district and most of the North throughout Monday, August 14.

The yellow weather warning will be in place between midnight until 9pm.

Cloudy conditions will start in the early hours right up until noon.

The Met Office has forecast "rain, heavy and persistent at times, bringing the risk of disruption to transport and infrastructure".

The rainfall will ease when it comes to the afternoon and evening.

The average temperature across the district is expected to be around the 18 degrees mark.

The wet weather is not expected to stay for too long, as clear and sunny conditions return for the rest of the week.

What does a yellow weather warning mean?

The Met Office issues yellow weather warnings for a range of weather situations that are likely to cause some low-level impact - such as travel disruption - to a limited area.

Such weather warnings mean most people can continue with their day as normal.

Other yellow warnings are issued when extreme weather is capable of causing an impact on most but where the certainty of this is much lower.
