AGE is just a number for Irene Gray who celebrates her 104th birthday this weekend at the Bradford care home where she is a resident.
Irene, who was one of the first to move into the new Holme Wood housing estate when it was built in the 1950s, is marking the milestone with a party of family and friends on Sunday, August 13.
She is described as fun-loving and full of life, by the staff at Rose Cottage care home in Thornton, where she has lived since the pandemic in 2020.
Staff and residents were said to be looking forward to the celebrations where there will be music, singing and dancing.
Born in Seaton Carew, Irene came to Bradford aged 13 to work in service. She met her late husband Stephen in the city with the couple marrying in 1942 and going on to have two sons, Peter and Chris.
