POLICE have revealed the warning signs that suggest a cannabis farm is in operation nearby.
Bradford South NPT shared their handy guide, 'Cannabis Farms, know the signs!', for residents this week.
If you read this and believe you're living near a cannabis farm, people should contact West Yorkshire Police via the 101 online chat or dial 101 for non emergencies.
People can also email the team directly via bradfordsouthnt@westyorkshire.police.uk
Alternatively, people can report information anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
Signs of cannabis farms
- A constant sound of hydroponics equipment, most commonly fans, could be in use. Residents may also find strange comings and goings in the property.
- Properties used for cannabis farms may be unoccupied but police say people could visit them at different times during the day or night. Occupants inside the address of suspected cannabis farms could never be seen but heard.
- Cannabis farm windows are concealed and appear to have a large amount of condensation on them.
- Broken equipment such as fans may be dumped in the front or back gardens of the properties.
- Police said if you can smell cannabis inside your property and the smell is constant, it is highly likely that there may be a cannabis farm located within close proximity of your address.
- Another sign is that cannabis farm suspects often bypass electricity meters. Check for loose or unusual wiring and sparks, burn marks or scorches on the meter.
