A CALF that fell around 50ft down a bank in Barden on Saturday and broke its leg was helped back to safety by a fell rescue team.
A team from the Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association was able to haul the three-month-old calf back up to safety with the help of the owner and a vet and with the use of specialist equipment.
A spokesperson for the Grassington-based UWFRA said: "The team was called to assist with the rescue of a calf that had fallen 15 metres to 20 metres down a steep bank suffering a reported broken leg.
"The team met at the farm and then assisted the farmer and a vet to access the calf, once it had been sedated it was recovered back up the bank and then taken back to the farm for further assessment by the vet."
