POLICE are investigating after disorder in the Undercliffe area of Bradford last night.
Officers were called at 8.50pm yesterday (August 2) to several reports of a Shogun ramming another vehicle and then the occupants of the Shogun assaulting the driver of the other vehicle on Hustler Street/Quaker Street.
A man was taken to hospital with serious injuries to his leg. Suspects made off before the police arrived at the scene, a West Yorkshire Police spokesman added.
A scene is in place this morning as enquiries continue.
Increased stop and search powers were put in place temporarily in the Undercliffe area of Bradford to prevent serious violence and keep communities safe following the incident, said police.
From 11pm last night to 8am this morning there were 16 stop searches conducted.
The Section 60 has since been withdrawn on review.
"Maintaining the trust and confidence of the community is vital and we are continuing to liaise with key community representatives, including the district's Independent Advisory Group, to ensure appropriate scrutiny and accountability around the use of this additional power," said a West Yorkshire Police spokesperson.
Detective Inspector Will Tsang, from Bradford CID, said: “This was a serious incident where reports of weapons were used to cause disorder on the streets of Bradford.
“Numerous enquiries are being conducted to find those responsible in what we believe was a targeted attack.
“We are working with our colleagues in the local Neighbourhood Policing team with extra patrols to provide reassurance in our communities.
“I would appeal to anyone who was in the area last night to come forward with information.”
