FINAL preparations are underway ahead of a major four-day music festival in the Bradford district.
Bingley Festival will see the likes of Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Happy Mondays, Jake Bugg and Travis take to the stage for this year’s event.
The spectacular will be held at Bradford and Bingley Rugby Club, Wagon Lane, and kicks off tomorrow (Thursday, August 3) with an action-packed bill including Shaun Ryder and co from the Happy Mondays headlining.
But before the action gets underway, crews have been building the stages and bars, kiosks and toilets in place around the site.
The main stage’s lights were being put into place on Wednesday afternoon as preparations continued apace.
A mobile cocktail bar which was situated in an ice-cream van could also be spotted by one of the rugby posts on the pitch ready to welcome revellers.
Stuart Bryne, site manager, says crews have been at the rugby club since Friday, July 28 setting up the stages and everything will be off-site by midweek next week.
He said: “It’s quite a big line-up for Bingley. It’s getting bigger and better.
“Hundreds of people will be on-site working as stage crew and working over the weekend.
“It’s all going well. I started here on Friday of last week.
“There is an extra day on the Thursday this year which gives value for money for the weekend season ticket holders.”
It will feature more than 40 bands and artists in what has been billed as the event's most ambitious to date.
The former Oasis star Noel Gallagher’s band will headline Friday, while Stone Roses' frontman Ian Brown (Saturday) and Travis (Sunday) will be the other stars of the bill for the rest of the weekend.
Meanwhile, it is expected to be a mixed few days of weather ahead for those attending the festival.
According to the Met Office forecast for Bingley, music fans can expect a mostly dry and cloudy opening day on Thursday with a chance of a shower between 8pm and 9pm.
Friday will see heavy rain at lunchtime, sandwiched by mostly dry and sunny conditions.
Saturday looks like being the wettest day of the festival, with showers throughout but sunny spells also expected.
The festival will close on Sunday with another mixture of sunshine and showers.
Day parking is located at Beckfoot School, Wagon Lane, which is over the road from the main festival site and is easily accessible. Weekend and camping parking will be at Aire View Avenue, Bingley.
