A FORMER winner of The Apprentice TV show who opened a dessert parlour in Bradford has bought Lord Sugar’s stake in her business.

Harpreet Kaur, who runs Oh So Yum dessert parlour, has bought back the well-known businessman’s shares in her firm.

Harpreet won the 2022 series of the popular BBC One show and secured a £250,000 investment from Lord Sugar.

The Bradford branch attracted queues of people when it opened on White Abbey Road in August 2022.

Among its first customers were a number of well known faces from The Apprentice - including fellow finalist Kathryn Louise Burn, Akeem Bundu-Kamara, Stephanie Affleck, and Brittany Carter.

With the purchase of Lord Sugar's shares, Harpreet and her sister, Gurvinder Kaur, are now in full control of the business.

Harpreet said: “I am extremely grateful for the knowledge and support that Lord Sugar and his team of advisors have given me.

“It has been invaluable in getting Oh So Yum! to the place where it is today, and I’m excited for the journey ahead.

“I could never have imagined what we would have achieved in such a short space of time, but this is just the beginning. Watch this space.”

Oh So Yum! sells a host of sweet treats including waffles, crepes and the brand’s famous cookie cups.

The Kaur sisters already have stores in Huddersfield and the White Rose Shopping Centre, as well as running an online delivery business.

Lord Sugar said: “Harpreet is an exceptionally bright and driven businesswoman.

“I’ve enjoyed our time working together, and whilst the time is right for us to now go our separate ways, I have no doubts she will continue to flourish.

“I look forward to seeing the Oh So Yum! brand go from strength to strength.”

Speaking at a business event held in Bradford in December last year, Harpreet gave an insight into the part Bradford has played in her business journey.

Bradford Telegraph and Argus:

Speaking at the launch of the Build Your Business programme at City Hall, Harpreet says she was inspired to start her business after visiting a dessert parlour in Bradford seven years ago.

She said: “Bradford was a powerhouse in business and people came from out of town to eat in Bradford when I first set up in business.

“It is really great to have opened up in this community. I can’t wait to keep expanding my business."
