A WOMAN has been jailed for breaching a criminal behaviour order by begging outside a supermarket.
Kelly Walsh, 35, of Valley Road, Shipley, pleaded guilty to begging in a public place, which took place at Asda on Manor Lane, in the town on July 17.
Walsh also admitted that by doing so she had breached an earlier criminal behaviour order.
A court hearing took place at Bradford and Keighley Magistrates’ Court on July 18.
Documents show that she was spotted sitting in a public place with a paper cup and that she was banned from begging by the criminal behaviour order made in December 2021.
Walsh was jailed for a total of four weeks as the offence was so serious that only a custodial sentence could be justified.
