A NEW tenant is wanted to run one of Bradford’s oldest pubs.
The Rose and Crown, part of the city’s underground Sunbridgewells complex thought to date back to the 1870s, is looking for new tenants.
The Rose and Crown covers three levels and has a courtyard of its own.
An original wooden sign for the Rose and Crown Inn, dating back to the 1870s, was found during work to create the underground complex.
The sign, hand-painted by Bradford artist Thomas Forrest, was found in a loft.
All of the fixtures and fittings are included in the tenancy agreement for the pub.
Sunbridgewells posted on its Facebook page: “Sunbridgewells has a fantastic opportunity for anyone wanting to come into the pub hospitality sector.
“You have the chance of running one of Bradford's oldest public houses.
Spread over three floors; the venue is decorated with rich textures of brick and stone, providing a cosy and warm ambience whilst maintaining the historical feel.”
It follows another bar at Sunbridgewells being taken on by new bosses.
Wallers Brewery reopened on July 20 under the management of Karen Hall, sister of late Sunbridgewells developer Graham Hall, and her partner Rebecca Dakin.
