A Tiktok star from Bradford is set to present a new series about classic cars on Dave TV.
Abigayle Andre, the face of viral TikTok channel @SheTalksCars, was headhunted by producers of the Repair Lot.
Abigayle will be joining the team of motorheads this month - including classic car mechanic Derek Drinkwater who’s driving in the 2023 Le Mans classic 24 hour race, car upholsterer Freya Read, Hannah Gordon, a self taught mechanic who had her own workshop business, and body shop specialist JerriLee Quintana who restores classic cars and classic milk floats.
Abigayle, who has her own segment on each episode of The Repair Lot, said that it’s proof “dreams do come true.”
The 30-year-old started her TikTok channel @SheTalksCars at the end of lockdown in a bid to help motorists make the most of their vehicles while sharing her expertise as a former car consumer advisor.
Brands were swiftly drawn to Abigayle’s down-to-earth personality, stylish dress sense and knowledge and passion for the motoring industry.
Abigayle, who previously worked as a skin care specialist before starting TikTok, said: “I’ve always wanted to work full time in motoring and on TV, so to be able to combine my interests is brilliant.
“I have always been passionate about cars and helping people make the most of their vehicle.
“While this TV show focuses on classic cars, it shines a light on our heritage and our nation's love of vehicles of all ages.”
Abigayle said that her own identity has been reflected in her love of cars, as her father is a motoring enthusiast and led her to working for a car manufacturer.
She said: “I’m a former car customer relations advisor, I predominantly worked for Volkswagen Group and Audi, before training as a skincare consultant and founding a homeless charity.
“My love of cars has always stayed with me and I would always be buying the latest motoring supplement or car magazine.
“I dreamed of sharing my own knowledge about cars too and Tiktok gave me that platform to be able to help a lot of people save money and make the most of their vehicle.”
And now Abigayle’s popularity on Tiktok has led to her appearing in her first TV series.
She will present alongside Charlotte Vowden, a columnist for Practical Classics magazine and writer for Hagerty.
Abigayle added: “My segment is specifically about automobilia, so if people have automobilia pieces that they want restored or changed into something either for a charity effort or to preserve a memory.”
