A STUDENT has been jailed for ten months for three commercial burglaries in Bradford.
Nikolas Balog, 28, of Salisbury Road, Shipley, Bradford, will be released immediately after serving the equivalent of a 20-month prison sentence on remand at HMP Leeds.
The global business management student had learned his lesson, his barrister Camille Morland told Bradford Crown Court today.
Prosecutor Gerald Hendron said Balog had pleaded guilty to the burglaries.
At 2.35am on August 26 last year, he was seen on CCTV getting into a Mazda at a garage on Holdsworth Street. He pushed the car on to Canal Road before driving it off.
It was later recovered, Mr Hendon said.
On August 27, Balog burgled Rimmington’s Pharmacy on Bridge Street and took a £1,000 laptop computer.
He was arrested on September 6 in possession of a key stolen in another burglary at the Holdsworth Street garage.
He made no comment to all questions asked by the police.
The court heard that Balog was a Slovak national with no previous convictions.
Miss Morland said he had been remanded in custody for ten months.
He was studying for a degree in global business management at the University of Suffolk on a course based in Leeds.
He had learned his lesson and wouldn’t be repeating any such criminal behaviour in the future.
Judge Jonathan Rose jailed him for a total of ten months.
