A MAIN road in the Bradford district is to be closed for resurfacing work.
Subject to weather conditions, the A629 Keighley Road, between George Street and Whalley Lane, in Denholme, is to be shut between 7.30am and 7pm on six Sundays between July 23 and August 27.
Councillor Alex Ross-Shaw, Bradford Council’s Executive Member for Regeneration, Planning and Transport, said: “These works on the A629 are part of our ongoing investment in our road network to make journeys safer and reduce our maintenance backlog.
"We recognise that this work will cause some short-term disruption, but we have done everything possible to keep this to a minimum.
"Pedestrian access will be unaffected by the work and residents and businesses will be allowed access when it’s safe to do so, but delays are to be expected.
"Signs warning people about the roadworks are already up and people are asked to avoid the area.”
