A community centre has unveiled a series of trips to the seaside over the summer holidays.

Girlington Community Centre will be hosting trips to Bridlington, Scarborough, Blackpool and Whitby this July and August. 

Councillor Fozia Shaheen said: “The cost of living crisis is having a huge impact on communities across the country. 

“Families around Girlington are also feeling the brunt of the crisis. As a result many people have chosen not to have family holidays, which are often vital to get a break, reconnect and re-energise.

“The Girlington Community Centre is encouraging people to take day trips if they wish to have some family time away from home. Taking a break always helps and these trips encourage positive physical and mental wellbeing without it being a burden on the purse strings. Who does not enjoy a lovely day by the sea?”
