A BRADFORD academy trust is celebrating after winning two awards. 

The Priestley Academy Trust, which runs which runs Atlas Community Primary School, Green Lane Primary School, Lilycroft Primary School, Margaret McMillan Primary School, Miriam Lord Community Primary School and Westbourne Primary School, in Manningham, won the Trust Executive Team of the Year award at the 2023 MAT Excellence Awards in London.

Michael McCarthy, CEO of the Trust, said: “We are honoured and humbled to receive this national award.

“We have a dedicated and highly skilled team who work hard to do right by our schools, staff and children but this award goes further than a few people in the executive team – all of our central team and school leaders work hard as a group and try to #bethechange for our schools, children and families.”

The Trust is also celebrating another award after Adilah Khan won the Bradford College Business Administration Apprentice of the Year, which she received for her work at Westbourne Primary School. 

Mathew Atkinson, executive head of Westbourne, said: “Adilah has been a proud member of our staff team at Westbourne for the last two years.

“Adilah was previously a pupil of the school and has returned to undertake her apprenticeship.

“She is an exceptional employee always going above and beyond for parents, staff and the community."
