HUNDREDS of people flocked to Bradford Pride on Saturday for a colourful day of celebrations.
More than 30 acts took to the stage in City Park, including pop stars, drag kings, drag queens, a voguing house and a disco bike.
Local entertainers were centre stage alongside performers from across the UK - among them Noughties popsters The Cheeky Girls, RuPaul's Drag Race UK star Ginny Lemon; Huddersfield’s House of Blaque; cabaret collective The Bitten Peach; The Big Gay Disco Bike on the move around City Park, with disco hits performed by artists Will Power and Carrot; Bradford-born Laurence Kashmere, known for their exuberant lip-syncs; Bradford drag legend Marigold Addams, whose signature Cher impersonation was featured on ITV talent show Starstruck; and Family Catwalk Extravanganza, a dance workshop from dancer and choreographer Jay Swinnerton.
The family-friendly event also included a community marketplace with stalls from local organisations and charities, and National Literacy Trust’s Bradford Stories Bus, sharing inclusive stories.
Bradford Pride was part of Proud BD - Bradford’s month-long celebration of LGBTQIA+ arts and culture from Bradford Council. The event was sponsored by charity Equity Partnership and Bradford College.
