A NEW funding scheme has been launched in Wrose by the local Parish Council to help local not-for-profit community groups and events in the area.
The fund has two elements, a community grant scheme up to £500 will fund projects that will have a positive impact on Wrose residents. This scheme is ideal for smaller initiatives, such as, community garden projects, or providing equipment for use by a community group.
The second type of grant, the community sponsorship grant, makes awards typically between £500 and £2,000. These grants are for community groups with more ambitious projects.
This scheme is designed to support larger-scale initiatives that aim to bring about significant change or improvements within the community. Examples of projects that may qualify for this grant include, organising a community not-for profit festival, or undertaking extensive environmental conservation work.
Low Ash Primary School has already benefited from the Community Grant Scheme, using £500 of funding to help create a community garden on the grounds of the school.
Wrose Carnival, held earlier this month, also benefitted from the Community Sponsorship Grant, receiving £2,000.
Organisations interested in applying for the grants can find out more information on www.wroseparishcouncil.gov.uk.
