A THIRD strike housebreaker with ‘a dismally long list of burglaries’ on his record is behind bars after making off with gold and other items valued at £1,500 from an address in Bradford.

Peter Firth, 42, of Maxwell Road, Buttershaw, Bradford, appeared before Bradford Crown Court on Monday (July 3) on a video link to HMP Leeds.

He pleaded guilty to entering a home in Little Horton, Bradford, on May 27 and stealing gold, identity documents, passports, a PlayStation 4 and a Gucci bag.

Firth’s barrister, Paul Canfield, said he was a third-strike house burglar looking at a three-year prison sentence.

But he asked for sentence to be adjourned for a probation report to explore other possibilities.

Judge Colin Burn said Firth had a ‘dismally long list of burglaries’ on his record.

He made him no promises but adjourned the case until September 11.

Firth, who has been recalled to prison on licence, was remanded back into custody.
