A Bradford family has been reunited with its missing dog after a six day search.
Ted, an 18-month-old Lakeland Terrier, disappeared during a walk through Dawson Woods, near Ainsbury Avenue, in Esholt.
He went to play with another dog before vanishing.
It sparked a huge rescue search and appeal from Ted’s family and West Yorkshire Police.
Sgt Terri Green said: “Ted is still missing.
“His doggy best friend who he lives with, has dementia and is struggling without him.”
Ted was found 10 miles away in Armley Park by two good samaritans who checked his microchip.
Ted was wearing a different collar while he had lost a lot of weight.
His owners said: “On behalf of all of our family we would love to thank every single person that has been a part of Ted’s search and been there for us.
“The messages of love and support have been overwhelming and heartwarming. People have been out searching, bringing sniffer dogs and drones to check the area.
“He is such a happy little guy who’s glad to be back home, ripping his toys to shreds with his family who love him so much.
“Once again to everybody from the bottom of our hearts, thank you so much.”
