One of West Yorkshire’s oldest mills has been taken into the 21st Century.
Gaunts Ltd has installed more than 500 solar panels on the roof of Farsley’s Springfield Mills.
It marks a milestone in the firm’s mission to reduce its carbon footprint and cut down costs amid the energy crisis.
The ambitious project covers three buildings, including an original spinning
Mill, and includes cutting-edge monitoring and control systems.
Chris Pratt, managing Director of Gaunts Ltd, said: "Our impressive solar panel installation embodies our dedication to a greener future. By harnessing the power of the sun, we are striving to provide a sustainable energy solution that benefits both the environment and the local area.”
The project was expertly managed by Farsley-based Associated Clean Technologies Ltd.
Operations director Nicola Newby said: "It's great to witness the commitment of local businesses to embrace sustainability. Our team has worked hard to deliver a renewable energy solution for these historic mill buildings in Farsley."
