A long-standing Bradford banking group has launched a new charity foundation to help children and young people.
The Vanquis Banking Group Foundation has a budget of £2.5 million for social mobility and financial inclusion initiatives.
The Foundation has already given £100,000 to support pupils across Bradford, Liverpool, Manchester and Blackpool.
It will also see Vanquis increase the size of its scheme to support access to affordable school uniforms.
Funding will rise to £125,000 between 2023 and 2024, supporting schools like Dixons Marchbank Primary in Barkerend.
Vanquis will be teaming up with partners National Numeracy Trust and Outward Bound Trust.
Malcolm Le May, CEO of Vanquis Banking Group, said: “Making sure children can get to school and have the skills they need to succeed demands a long-term commitment.
“I’ve seen the difference we can make for individual families with our partners’ help.
“As families deal with the challenges of rising prices month after month, financial inclusion is more important than ever.”
