A MAN died on a popular cycling and walking route this morning, West Yorkshire Police has confirmed.
Officers were called to the Spen Valley Greenway to a report of a man needing medical assistance.
He was unresponsive and pronounced dead a short time later.
In a statement, a spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: "At 7.22am today (Monday) police received a report of a man needing medical assistance who had been found on the Greenway in Liversedge, to the rear of Ripley Road.
"Emergency services attended and the man was found to be unresponsive.
"He was sadly pronounced deceased a short time later.
"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of the man’s death and his identity.
"His death is not being treated as suspicious."
