NEW food hygiene ratings have been awarded to 24 of Bradford’s establishments, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.

The news is very good for restaurants, takeaways and drinking establishments across the Bradford district, with 19 of 24 of them securing a top rating of 5.

Nine out 10 restaurants and cafes, seven out of 11 takeaways and all three drinking establishments, including Martinez Wines in Bingley received top marks.

Chris Wood, company director of Martinez Wines, says it is a boost for customers and staff alike.

He said: “It’s just an added reassurance that we’re on the right track.

“It gives people that extra trust to eat here too. It helps to keep us on top of the game. It is good for the team here.

“More and more people are coming here for their food.

“We can never take our foot off the gas. We’ve got to keep pushing forward.”

Three ratings have been handed to pubs, bars or nightclubs:

• Olicanian Cricket Club - Denton Road, Ilkley; rated 5 on June 12.

• Upwood Holiday Park (Bar Only) - Upwood Park, Black Moor Road, Oxenhope, Keighley; rated 5 on June 7.

• Martinez Wines at 110 Main Street, Bingley; rated 5 on May 25.

The following ratings have been given to 10 restaurants, cafes or canteens:

• New York Krispy Fried Chicken at 131 Great Horton Road, Bradford; rated 5 on June 13.

• HCF Poultry - Staff Canteen at Station Yard, Station Road, Cullingworth, Bingley; rated 5 on June 8.

• The Gateway Cafe at 45 Thackeray Road, Bradford; rated 5 on June 8.

• PCB Catering at Upwood Holiday Park at Black Moor Road, Oxenhope, Keighley; rated 5 on June 7.

• High Street Cafe at 59 High Street, Queensbury, Bradford; rated 5 on May 27.

• Chelsea's Treats at 200-202 Swan Avenue, Bingley; rated 5 on May 25.

• KFC at 2 Lower Holme Park, Baildon; rated 5 on May 23.

• Maggies's Tea Room at Honeysuckle Cottage, Apperley Lane, Apperley Bridge, Bradford; rated 5 on May 23.

• Little House of Tapas "La Casita" at 3-5 Cunliffe Road, Ilkley; rated 5 on May 5.

• The Fip at 114 Listerhills Road, Bradford; rated 4 on May 16.
