A BRADFORD man will be “running, walking and crawling” the height of Mount Everest to support a “beacon of light” in his life.
Satti Saggu will take on the challenge of scaling the equivalent of just over 29,000 feet across four days, from July 17 to July 20.
He will do this by running up and down the tallest mountain in the UK, Ben Nevis, which stands at 4,413 feet at its summit.
Mr Saggu admits he may even be “walking and crawling” at points and said it will be a “a physical, mental and emotional challenge”.
He added: “This challenge I know will push my body to the extreme, even more so as I am the first to avoid hills of any description.”
Meningitis Now and Tommy’s are the two charities Mr Saggu will be supporting.
He hopes to raise £500 for each of the organisations and has two separate Go Fund Me pages.
Tommy’s - largest UK pregnancy and baby loss charity – provided a “beacon of light” for Mr Saggu and his wife during their struggles.
He said: “Having experienced baby loss on more than one occasion, my wife and I appreciate the emotional and physical impact it has.
“During our most difficult days my wife and I found Tommy’s to be a beacon of light that helped us heal.”
