YOUNG explorers, painters and builders are invited to visit Bradford Cathedral this weekend to take part in its second ‘Bee Creative’ event.
The event, which will be held on Saturday, June 3, from 11am, will offer three activities.
One is exploring the Cathedral grounds to see what plants and animals can be found, with prizes for those who spot the most.
Another activity is helping stock up the Cathedral's ‘Bug Hotel’ to offer homes for bees, bugs and beetles. There will also be a chance for visitors to paint their own bug hotel/bee box to leave at the Cathedral or to take home.
The event will also include information about the environmental work of the Cathedral, and there will be refreshments for those taking part. People can also take time off from spotting, painting and building to explore the Cathedral.
‘Bee Creative’ is part of a nationwide events programme for Churches Count on Nature 2023.
It focuses on the wildlife to be found in churchyards and chapel yards. It is a joint initiative promoted by Caring for God’s Acre, the Church of England, the Church in Wales and A Rocha UK.
