A BRADFORD district fish and chip restaurant site has re-opened under new management.
The Station Masters House in Park Road, Bingley, has welcomed back customers.
It has initially opened up its takeaway service and plans to re-open its restaurant and bar at a later date.
The restaurant and bar section of the site, located next to Bingley train station, will have more than 50 seats, split inside and outside. It will also operate a bar.
Its takeaway menu offers many of the staples including fish and chips and butties.
It is also serving up other treats like battered king prawns and squid, black pudding, spam and pineapple fritters, plus children’s food options.
Martin Cockram, head of operations at Finlays Fish Company, says he is looking forward to re-opening the site and being a part of the town.
He said: “We have got a good product to offer. This is a boost to Bingley.
“It’s a cracking site, we’re right next to the train station. I did not know Bingley at all before I came here. I had a look around and people talk about food and the local places here.
“We will be focusing on the restaurant and bar, once they open. We will offer a diverse menu. We will offer a good quality product.
“It is nice to be part of the Bingley community and hopefully fit in.
“James Hinchliffe, operations chef, has spearheaded the work in Bingley.”
It is one of four fish and chip takeaways that have opened up under the Finlays Fish Company umbrella. The others are located in Baildon, Harrogate and Holywell Green near Halifax. The Station Masters House will become the group’s first restaurant to open up.
The Station Masters House closed under its previous ownership in September last year.
Former owners Matt and Jo Hogg announced its closure “with sadness and regret”.
The long-empty building had been brought back to life as a sit-down fish and chip shop with wine and craft beers.
But the restaurant’s annual electricity bill was set to more than quadruple from £8,500 to £36,000 and the couple said that the situation had "forced" their hands.
The new-look Station Masters House, which officially opened its takeaway on May 23, will be closed every Monday and Sunday.
It will be open every Tuesday to Thursday from 11.30am to 8pm.
The site is open on Fridays between 11.30am and 9pm and Saturdays from 11.30am to 8.30pm.
