RateMyTakeaway’s Danny Malin named Bradford as one of his favourite cities for food reviews in one of his latest videos.
The YouTuber headed to Wing Heist on Great Horton Road, the takeaway offering customisable wings in nine different spice levels.
His order included three portions of fried wings - including the naga chilli sauce, BBQ and Wings Heist original sauce - as well as fries, blue cheese dip and ranch dip. The bill came to £13.80.
Before rolling up to the venue, the 42-year-old said: “Bradford is one of my favourite places to come and do takeaways because they’ve got such an array of different cuisines.
“It’s quite weird because spice wise it does vary, you can taste the difference in different places, some just absolutely go to town and blow your head off, others might be a little bit more mild, but you’re definitely going to get something that’s going to burn your mouth.”
He added: “I love it here. I love how friendly people are, I love the food, the different flavours, there’s that many food places in Bradford it’s unreal.
"The people in Bradford just love their takeaway food. You get heat, you get kebabs, you get curries. I can’t wait to taste these wings.”
He took a moment to appreciate the takeaway’s black and green packaging before tucking in.
After taste testing the fries, he said: "No blue cheese sauce, no ranch sauce, it looks like I've just got chilli sauce.
"We’ve got skin on fries, these are nice fries, they’ve been cooked well, crisp, seasoned. Bang on."
The reviewer then moved onto the wing selection.
He said: “First impressions of these grill ones, they’re a little bit small. The grill wings, nice bit of BBQ, the flavour’s not too bad but they’re not the biggest wings I’ve had.
“It’s like two bites you’re done.
“They are nice and succulent and soft but there’s just not a lot on there.
“Now we’ve got the deep-fried wings, this is the heist special seasoning, it’s got a nice crunch to it, the chicken inside’s quite nice and moist.
"The seasoning on there, salt and pepper, if I’m honest with it being their signature special seasoning in Bradford I would have expected it to have a little more pazazz about it.
“Let’s move onto the naga wings. They still are small wings. The wing places I’ve been to just focusing on wings, they’re massive.
“Usually when I’ve had naga, my mouth is absolutely on fire. There’s a little bit of spice but it’s not as much as what I’ve had in the past.”
Danny gave the takeaway a six out of ten rating.
