A BRADFORD couple who recently celebrated running their hair salon in Shipley for 25 years received a special letter recognising their achievement from the Prime Minister.
David and Catherine Wilson, who 25 years ago opened Millenium Hair Studio which is now located on Windsor Road, Shipley, were recognised by Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, who called the salon "inspirational" and noted they had gone "over and beyond to support the local community".
The Wilsons also received an invitation from Shipley MP Philip Davies to attend a dinner and special tour of the Houses of Parliament.
In a letter, Mr Sunak wrote: "Dear Catherine and David. I wanted to write a short note to congratulate you both on the 25th anniversary of Millenium Hair Studio.
"I have been informed by Philip Davies MP the Millenium Hair Studio is a much-loved local business.
"Not only are you a popular hair salon, but you have gone over and beyond to support the local community.
"Your recent anniversary celebrations in aid of Yorkshire Cancer Research is one such example.
"I would like to take the opportunity to thank you for all you do.
"The journey you have made over 25 years is very inspirational, particularly the way you supported your staff during the pandemic.
"Local businesses such as yourselves are the lifeline of our economy, who not only create jobs but generate invaluable skills and experience for the local economy."
Millenium Hair Studio recently celebrated its 25th birthday with a fundraising day on May 13 which raised £1,766 for Yorkshire Cancer Research.
