LATEST NEWS: Train window was cracked after being hit by air gun pellets
THERE was major disruption to train services this evening while police dealt with an emergency situation.
Officers were on the tracks solving an incident between Leeds Railway Station and Kirkstall Forge.
All lines were blocked as a result of this.
Northern Rail, which operates trains serving these stations, replied to someone on Twitter asking about what was happening to the 6.03pm service from Leeds to Ilkley to say it was cancelled due to "vandalism" on a train.
Trains using this line were either cancelled, delayed by up to 45 minutes, or revised.
This included those serving Apperley Bridge, Guiseley, Kirkstall Forge and Ilkley.
There were limited trains operating between Bradford Forster Square and Ilkley/Skipton.
Network Rail said: "Customers travelling to/from Leeds are advised to travel via Bradford Interchange as this route is unaffected.
"Rail replacement transport has been requested to run to help with your journey.
"Further details will be provided once confirmed."
Disruption was expected to last until 8pm but all lines reopened at 7.49pm.
There were still delays of up to 30 minutes initially though.
The Telegraph & Argus has contacted British Transport Police (BTP) for more details.
