A WOMAN was injured when a car overturned in a crash on the M62 near Bradford this morning (Monday). The crash is causing long delays of 40 minutes.
According to one report, there are long delays and two lanes closed due to a crash, with an overturned car involved on M62 westbound between junction 27 (M621 - Gildersome) to junction 26 (M606 - Chain Bar).
There is congestion on routes through Birkenshaw, Drighlington and Birstall as traffic diverts at junction 28 (Tingley).
There is also queueing traffic on the eastbound side as onlookers slow to look at the accident. Travel time is around 40 minutes.
Traffic is passing the incident on the hard shoulder and in lane one, as lanes two and three (of three) remain closed after traffic was briefly held up.
A spokesperson for Yorkshire Ambulance Service said: "We were called just before 6am today to the crash near junction 27 of the M62.
"We sent an ambulance at conveyed one patient to hospital.
A crew from Cleckheaton Fire Station was called to the scene of the crash, but a spokesperson said the female occupant was out of the car when they arrived.
