A NEW bakery is set to welcome its first sweet-toothed customers to its new shop in a Bradford district town.

Three Little Birds Bakery is opening its first shop on Cavendish Street, Keighley, on Friday, May 19.

The shop will also feature a kids’ counter which will include treats such as rocky road for youngsters. The bakery will have a selection of vegan and gluten-free options. The shop will also have a coffee machine available to customers.

The business already makes wedding and birthday cakes and offers cake decorating classes to the public.

Bec Severs, bakery owner, initially set up the business in November 2015 following a previous career in publishing. The bakery business has thrived since and the Keighley site is her first shop.

“There is a real sense community and you really can’t do this kind of thing on your own.

“It’s a giant collaboration. A town like Keighley needs a lift. I really want to be here. I really care about it (Keighley).

“It is a good location right in the heart of the high street. It has really good footfall and is right in the heart of everything.

“All of our cakes are made from scratch. All of our lemon curd and salted caramel is handmade. We make our own French macarons and hardly anyone makes them around here.

“The reason I started the business is because you sometimes get beautiful cakes that are not as nice when you cut into them. The taste of the cake is just as important as how it looks. We use quality ingredients. We use organic milk and organic eggs.

“We make a lot of wedding cakes and birthday cakes. We offer cake decorating classes that are really popular.
