A SWEEP for hidden weapons in the parks of Guiseley was carried out as part of an operation highlighting knife-crime awareness.
The Leeds North West Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) yesterday (May 17) marked day three of the national Knife Crime Awareness Week by carrying out Operation Sceptre.
NPT Officers contributed to this by deploying a Knife Arch to a local secondary school in Holt Park.
They also conducted a sweep for any hidden weapons in parks in the Guiseley area.
They held a knife-crime awareness event in conjunction with Leeds Youth Service WNW in Holt Park near Horsforth and Cookridge.
They also had a mobile knife-amnesty log for anyone to call in and ask us to collect their unwanted knives/sharps.
A collection service for knives/sharps is still available - just dial 101 and quote log number 1940 of May 11.
