POLICE have issued an update after a car dramatically smashed into a wall on a major Bradford road.
The Volkswagen Jetta struck a police vehicle before being driven towards Allerton Road where it collided with a wall at the junction of Chapel Lane on the night of Friday, May 12.
At the time, a man was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop, dangerous driving and being over the prescribed limit for drugs.
Police told the Telegraph & Argus that he has since been bailed pending further enquiries.
The crash caused extensive damage to the wall and scattered debris, including a street sign, into the entrance of Ladyhill Park.
On Saturday, a spokesperson for the force said: "At about 11.51pm, a car was reported to have failed to stop for police in the Allerton area of Bradford.
"The car, a Volkswagen Jetta, struck the police vehicle and drove off towards Allerton Road, where it collided with a wall at the junction of Chapel Lane.
"Two males ran off from the vehicle and one male was detained following a foot chase.
"He was arrested for failing to stop, dangerous driving and being over the prescribed limit for drugs and remains in custody while enquiries continue into the incident."
