A BRADFORD organisation has won an award at a prestigious ceremony for its contribution to society.

Raising Explorers, a childcare centre in the Manningham ward of Bradford, won the national British Muslim award in the category of 'Muslim Contribution to Society' at a ceremony in Manchester.

The British Muslim Awards are celebrating their 10th annual awards this year, highlighting the best Uk Muslim businesses.

The childcare centre is dedicated to supporting young children between the ages of 5-15 who come from single or working-parent households, providing services such as drop-in childcare, academic tuition, and school holiday club, among others.

Raising Explorers, which has been running for 10 years, had worked hard to help the Bradford community.

The centre has organised workshops with the aim of assisting the community and equipping them with crucial information.

Bradford West MP, Naz Shah, has praised the institution on its fantastic work, saying: “Congratulations to Raising Explorers for their recent accomplishment of receiving this esteemed award.

“It is a truly remarkable achievement for the vibrant city of Bradford, and I commend the team for their exceptional dedication and relentless efforts. Well done!”

A recent initiative launched by the centre was a mental health awareness workshop, which aimed to educate the community about mental health issues. Currently, the centre is delivering a free level 2 course through its partnership with CECOS College to make it easier for individuals within the Bradford Community to become employed by gaining new qualifications.

Raising Explorers frequently organises charity stalls and collaborates with many different charity organisations, hoping to encourage their students and teach them the importance of giving back and helping the wider community.

A spokesperson for Raising Explorers, said: “The key aim of the centre is to raise the new generation of Muslims in an Islamic, nurturing, and comfortable environment so that they grow into being well-rounded individuals who are confident in their identity of being a Muslim and ready to positively contribute to a forever changing society and succeed as the leaders of their communities.

“This award is a testament to all our hard work, dedication and service which couldn’t make us any happier.”
