A MAN has appeared in court for a racially aggravated incident at a Bradford police station.
Simon Knowles, 39, of Fontmell Close, Bradford, was sentenced at Leeds Magistrates' Court earlier this week.
Court documents state Knowles intended to cause a person harassment, alarm or by using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour, or disorderly behaviour, thereby causing alarm or distress.
The court also deemed the incident was racially and religiously aggravated. The offence was committed at Trafalgar House police station at 5.40am on August 1, 2021.
Knowles was fined £140 and ordered to pay £120, £85 costs and a £34 victim surcharge for the offence. A collection order was made by the court. An application was made for benefit deductions. The total sum to be recovered was £239.
Knowles pleaded guilty to the charge and was sentenced on May 8.
