A TEAM from a delivery company spent a day with the Emmaus team to support the opening of their new site in Bradford.

The new Pollard Lane site will support formerly homeless people by giving companions a home, meaningful work, and a sense of belonging.

The Evri team, based at its Morley location, offered their time and support to help paint and decorate the new companion houses in preparation for the opening.

The team also made donations of toiletries and bedding which are used as part of Emmaus’ accommodation packages for the new residents in the community.

The employees enjoyed meeting some of the companions and a tour of the new facility which can accommodate 24 previously homeless people and currently has five residents.

Evri, the UK’s biggest dedicated parcel delivery company, partnered with Emmaus in 2020, since then more than £127,000 has been raised through fundraising by Evri’s people and cash donations from the business.

Darrel Tinsley, chief executive of Emmaus Bradford, said: “I want to express my appreciation for the impact Evri have made on our community, and I hope that their experience volunteering with us has been as meaningful for you as it has been for us.”
