A BRADFORD district town hall building will take centre stage in the latest episode of a major new TV drama series.

The third episode of Malpractice, a new five-part thriller, will be broadcast on ITV1 on Sunday, May 7 at 9pm.

The story sees Niamh Algar play Dr Lucinda Edwards, a doctor working on a shift that ends in the death of opioid overdose victim Edith Owusu.

Dr Edwards is a registrar at the West Yorkshire Royal Hospital working in the A&E department. She has also worked on the frontline during the pandemic.

In the third episode, Dr Edwards will be seen giving evidence during Edith’s inquest.

These scenes were filmed at Shipley Town Hall in June 2022, with the site being shown from outside and the inquest taking place inside the building.

A number of vehicles featuring large cranes for lighting were spotted outside the front of the building’s entrance for the filming last summer. anes used Town.

It was the first time Shipley Town Hall has been used as a set for filming and is one of the locations for the TV thriller.

In a guide to the third episode, ITV said: “The inquest into the patient's death uncovers shocking new information which raises questions for both Lucinda and the Medical Investigation Unit.”

A warning has been issued to say the third episode includes strong language and upsetting scenes. It will also feature references to drug addiction and suicide.

ITV has released teaser photographs from the third episode of the new five-part drama series, featuring scenes from the programme.

The plot sees Edith’s grieving father Sir Anthony Owusu demand an inquiry into Lucinda’s actions on the night of her death.

During the third episode, he questions many of the key characters during the inquest including Dr Edwards.

Scenes from the series were filmed throughout the Bradford district in summer 2022 including at City Hall, but it is the former tax office in Shipley that plays a key role.

The building was converted into an accident and emergency department where Dr Edwards works and also has a crucial part to play in the opening episode.

Episode two also included a couple of scenes filmed both inside and outside of the Shipley Underground Market in Kirkgate, when Dr Edwards visits a mobile phone shop location inside in the edition.

After tonight’s episode, the last two programmes of the series will then be shown at the same time each Sunday.
