A new Japanese-Brazilian restaurant in Bradford city centre will open its doors next month.

Nature-inspired signage for SakkuSamba, a restaurant concept by Estabulo, can now be seen at The Broadway shopping centre.

The ‘immersive dining concept’ will offer seating for more than 300 people and a menu filled with noodle dishes, sushi and Brazilian grilled meats.

Company director Zac Issak, who visited the Bradford restaurant earlier in the week, has promised SakkuSamba will bring “something completely unique” to the city.

Mr Issak said: "It's been a longtime in the making but we're now entering the final stages of development for this project.

“SakkuSamba is set to bring something completely unique to Bradford and we can't wait to share it with the people of this city when we open our doors in June."

Brazil is home to the largest Japanese population outside of Japan - inspiring a plethora of fusion-style dishes at SakkuSamba.

It was announced that Estabulo would be opening its first Bradford chain in early 2020, shortly before the Covid 19 pandemic shut down businesses across the country.

The company says the new concept, a mix of Japanese and Brazilian, has proved so popular in Manchester that it led to a change in the plans for the Bradford restaurant.

SakkuSamba’s team has set up a central kitchen in Bradford, where ingredients can be prepared before being sent off to the chain's various restaurants.

It will be based at Media House, a large light industrial building on the Thornton Road Industrial Estate.

In the application, the company said: “Since Estabulo has a chain of restaurants, it makes sense to propose a central kitchen where all food are being prepared for all their restaurants in a central location and delivered to their respective restaurants.

“Its location is ideal since it is central to all their restaurants and can easily be dispatched with 1 hour drive time.”

Speaking previously to the Telegraph & Argus, Ian Ward, general manager at The Broadway, said: "We’re delighted that the unit on Charles Street will be imminently opening.

"SakkuSamba will be a welcome addition to The Broadway; its unique concept of Japanese-Brazilian cuisine wrapped up in an immersive dining concept will be hugely popular with the shoppers and residents of Bradford.

"SakkuSamba is an exciting new restaurant that joins the wealth of eateries at The Broadway and it further strengthens our commitment to bring new propositions to Bradford."
