A BRADFORD-born superstar illusionist will be among the guests at this weekend’s coronation for King Charles III.
Dynamo, who grew up as Steven Frayne in Delph Hill near Wyke, will be at the historic event held at Westminster Abbey on Saturday, May 6.
He is one of a number of star names with links to The Prince's Trust announced among the guest list for the prestigious ceremony.
Dynamo received support, advice and a business start-up loan from the charity, which was set up by King Charles, then the Prince of Wales, in 1976.
The magician said: "The Prince's Trust gave me the support no one else would and it changed my life - that's real magic.”
Dynamo has been a star on stage and TV screens for more than 10 years.
His previous illusions have included him walking across the River Thames, hovering above The Shard in London and walking down The LA Times building.
He pulled jewellery through the glass of a locked cabinet, disappeared into a pile of clothes and levitated above the Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro.
Dynamo established himself as one of the world’s best-known magicians with his Magician Impossible TV series, which aired in more than 180 countries.
Other high-profile names who will attend the coronation include TV presenters Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly. They will join young people who have been supported by The Prince's Trust.
The pair will attend the event at Westminster Abbey in their capacity as goodwill ambassadors, a role they took up in 2021 after some two decades working with the charity.
Also among the attendees will be American singer-songwriter Lionel Richie, who was named chairman of the trust's global ambassador group in 2019.
But Dynamo will not be the only Bradfordian to take their seat at the coronation.
Humayun Islam, chairman and founder of the Bangla Bantams Bradford City supporters’ group, has also been invited to the event.
He will be one of 2,000 people at the historic occasion alongside heads of state, overseas Government representatives, Government ministers, First Ministers, former Prime Ministers, foreign royals and members of the Royal Family.
The coronation ceremony starts at 11am and the King will be crowned at noon by The Archbishop of Canterbury when he places the St Edward’s Crown on Charles’s head.
The Prince's Trust, founded in 1976, has supported more than one million young people in the UK since it was founded and now helps them in more than 20 countries around the world.
