A YOUNG entrepreneur from the Bradford district has launched a new health drink being sold across Yorkshire.
Shayaan Khan, 26, from Shipley, works professionally as a software developer analyst but has always been interested in holistic health.
He launched his company Salveo Health at the start of this year and has now released his first drink.
His drink, made from the mineral-rich resin, Shilajit, is available across most Shell petrol stations in Yorkshire.
Shayaan said: “I’ve always been interested in holistic health and alternative medication, and I did a lot of research on Shilajit, which is powder that’s got a lot of health benefits.
“I tried Shilajit, it really wasn’t very nice, so I thought I’m sure I can do something to make it taste more pleasurable.
“The drink I’ve made tastes good and you get the benefit of the Shilajit.”
Shayaan’s drink is a milk-based energy drink, made with a variety of flavouring agents and contains nuts.
The drink is 100 per cent organic and free from additives and sweeteners.
The mineral Shilajit has been used for hundreds of years and is thought to overcome lethargy, tiredness and chronic fatigue.
“I’ve put my business on TikTok and it’s done well, people are interested, said Shayaan.
"I started growing it from there.
“Like all businesses I’ve had people, jump on the bandwagon, but I’ve got the copyright for it and I’m soon to get the patent for it.
“I’m currently a one-man band and, so I’m making, bottling, and labelling the product all by myself.
“We’re seeing some good sales, but because the drink doesn’t have a long shelf life, I’m making it on demand for the petrol stations where it’s running out.”
The business has been set up through his own funding, along with support from his family.
Shayaan said: “My parents are proud of the business and what I’ve achieved.
“It’s really nice to be able to go into petrol stations and see your product on the shelf.”
Shayaan has several other drinks in the pipeline and is excited about the future of his health drink business.
