MORRISONS has created its own version of the King and Queen’s personally chosen Coronation Quiche in Bradford.
The Coronation Quiche costs £3 and includes a shortcrust pastry filled with spinach, broad beans, egg, cream, milk, cheese and tarragon.
Following the announcement of the recipe last week, Morrisons' team of expert bakers has been hard at work sourcing the broad beans, spinach and tarragon and perfecting the recipe in its own quiche factory in Bradford.
King Charles went to Morrisons’ headquarters in Gain Lane when he visited Bradford in November last year.
Rebecca Snowdon, deli buyer at Morrisons, said: “At Morrisons we have our own quiche factory and so have been able to turn things around quickly and develop our Coronation Quiche for our customers’ parties.”
King Charles and Queen Camilla chose the French-inspired dish from royal chef Mark Flanagan who has designed the quiche as the perfect centrepiece for street parties across Britain. This follows in the footsteps of the Coronation Chicken which was created for the late Queen’s celebration in 1953.
Morrisons Coronation Quiche serves four and costs £3 and is available from deli counters found in-store on Market Street from May 3.
