A new gardening and wellbeing course for adults has launched in Bradford.
The six week course, run by training provider Realise, is being held at the newly-opened Skills Hub at the Holme Centre, behind Holme Church.
It is open to local residents over the age of 19 who have lived in the UK for at least three years and is free of charge to complete.
The project is already blossoming with the creation of a new community garden at the venue.
The course, which runs on Tuesdays between 9.15am and 2.45pm, will cover themes such as how food grows, home garden set-up and maintenance, compost, seedlings and germination, sustainable gardening and insects and pests.
Partnership development officer Tony Buck said: “This is the first time we have delivered this course anywhere in the country.
“We want to increase awareness around gardening in general and people growing their own food in particular. At a time when many are struggling with the cost of living, there could be some vital cost savings to be had by growing your own vegetables, for instance."
