THE West Yorkshire Mayor was among guests at a charity Iftar in Bradford.

Chadwick Lawrence, a leading law firm in Yorkshire, held their first-ever Charity Iftar event promote diversity, inclusivity, and different faiths and cultures.

It was attended by dignitaries including Tracy Brabin, the Mayor of West Yorkshire and Mark Roberts, the Chair of Leeds City Region LEP Board.

Asma Iqbal, partner at Chadwick Lawrence, in her opening speech, highlighted the significance of the event, which marked the convergence of three Abrahamic religious events, namely Ramadan, Easter, and Passover, after more than 30 years.

She emphasised the need for greater awareness and understanding of other faiths, cultures, and traditions to promote tolerance and acceptance in society. She also thanked the businesses and individuals who came together to support the charitable cause.

Mayor Brabin thanked the business community for their commitment to charity and community work, which she said was an essential part of Ramadan.

She expressed her pride in the diversity and inclusivity of the West Yorkshire business community and promised to put equality, diversity, and inclusion at the heart of everything she does.
