A 51-year-old woman must pay more than £450 to the courts after being fined for dropping a piece of paper.
Etelka Varga was caught littering by Kirklees Council officers on October 12, 2022. She was spotted dropping a white piece of paper and leaving it there.
Varga, of Firthcliffe Road, Liversedge, appeared at Kirklees Magistrates’ Court earlier this month, charged with throwing down, leaving or otherwise depositing litter.
The incident took place in South Street, Dewsbury.
Court documents show that the case was proved and Varga was fined £220, as well as a victim surcharge of £88.
She must also pay £150 in costs, meaning a total of £458 to pay to the courts.
Varga has until May 4 to pay in full.
