A community Iftar in Bradford brought people of all faiths together to witness what Ramadan is all about.
Volunteer Tasveer Ghani, who is chair of the Upper Heaton Working Together group, organised what is thought to be first ever Iftar event in the Haworth Road area.
Held at St.Martin’s Church Hall, people joined for the breaking of the day’s fast, listened to an Imam from Haworth Road Masjid, and enjoyed Aleem Bashir’s performance of the prayer Adhan.
The former Community Star Award winner said: “I want to continue in encouraging and empowering our locals to get involved and take an interest in their local area in the hope they may take on projects one day and be able to run them by themselves.
"It would be nice to see a beautiful, flourishing society where everyone works together.”
One of the attendees, Syma, said: “I’ve lived here 20 years and this was my first local Iftar event for all the community, feel really blessed to have been a part of it.”
