The Bradford Bulls are set to make history by becoming the first rugby league club in the country to host a community Iftar event.
During Ramadan, Muslims do not eat or drink during daylight, devoting themselves to the Islamic faith.
When the call to the Maghrib prayer sounds, which is around sunset, Muslims break their daily fast together in a precious tradition called Iftar.
Joined by club representatives and people of all faiths, Bradford Bulls will host the special event from 7pm on Wednesday, April 12, at Odsal Stadium.
Guests include RFL Chief Executive Tony Sutton and Rimla Akhtar OBE, chair of the sport’s Inclusion Board.
Similar events have been taking place across the district in recent weeks, with around a quarter of Bradford’s population identifying as Muslims.
Rimla Akhtar OBE, Chair of Rugby League’s Inclusion Board, said: “People from different faiths and backgrounds coming together to share an experience such as this is a wonderful way to break down barriers and show just how inclusive the city can be.”
Ian Stafford, Bradford Bulls' commercial manager, gave special thanks to Ikram Butt, Siddique Amin and Humayun Islam for their support as well as the RFL.
