POLICE have confirmed that a person died after being hit by a train near a level-crossing.
A spokesperson for British Transport Police (BTP) said officers were called to the track in the Keighley area on Saturday at 9.33pm.
It had been reported to them that a person had been struck by a train.
Officers rushed to the scene, which was near to a level crossing in the area, and medics from the ambulance service also attended.
The person was pronounced dead at the scene but their death is being treated as non-suspicious, according to the BTP spokesperson.
A file is now being prepared for the Coroner.
The report provoked a large response from all emergency services, with West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service (WYFRS) confirming it was called to the scene.
Footage seen by the Telegraph & Argus shows a large amount of staff from fire, police and ambulance in Parkers Lane, in Utley, Keighley.
A number of railway services began to be cancelled following the incident.
The Leeds to Skipton service - run by Northern Rail - at 10.56pm was cancelled, while the train serving Leeds to Keighley at 11.20pm was also halted in part, between Keighley and Skipton.
