LATEST NEWS: Police confirm person died after being hit by train near level-crossing
SERVICES were cancelled and there was a large emergency response after a person was hit by a train last night.
Railway services began to be cancelled after a person was struck by a train near Keighley at 9.33pm.
This provoked a major response from all emergency teams - including fire, police and ambulance.
Footage seen by the Telegraph & Argus shows a large amount of staff from all services in Parkers Lane, in Utley, Keighley.
West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service (WYFRS) confirmed it was called to the scene.
The Leeds to Skipton service - run by Northern Rail - at 10.56pm was cancelled.
Realtimetrains said: "This service was cancelled due to a person hit by a train".
The service from Leeds to Keighley, at 11.20pm, was partly cancelled.
Realtimetrains said: "This service was cancelled between Keighley and Skipton due to a person hit by a train".
British Transport Police (BTP) has now provided a statement.
The Telegraph & Argus has contacted Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) for comment.
