A high school in Bradford district was forced into an emergency closure due to "unforeseen circumstances".
Beckfoot Oakbank, Keighley, was closed on Wednesday (March 29) after the school's phone lines went down.
The issue presented a health and safety risk to students, the secondary school's closure notice said.
A spokesperson for Beckfoot Oakbank said: "School will be closed to students today due to unforeseen circumstances.
"Further details will be communicated to staff and students using normal communication routes.
"Staff should still attend school for a training day, and call the usual number to report an absence."
In an update later in the day, the school said: "Thank you for your patience today.
"We have been waiting on an update from Virgin Media/BT about the size and scale of the problem we, and others, have faced today.
"We now have a contingency plan in place for the morning and have been informed that engineers are due to survey and resolve the issue early tomorrow morning."
The update added the school would be open to all pupils on Thursday, March 30.
