REPORTS of violence and sexual offences were the highest reported crime in January across Bradford, according to the latest police data.

Figures from the data.police.uk website show there were a total of 6,375 crimes in the Bradford policing district in January 2023.

Of those there were 2,905 reports of violence and sexual offences.

This was followed by 696 reports of public order offences, 543 of criminal damage and arson, as well as 431 reports of other theft – which includes theft by an employee, blackmail and making off without payment.

There were also 342 burglaries, 321 incidents of anti-social behaviour, 307 recorded vehicle crimes, and 243 incidents of shoplifting.

Other crime, which includes forgery, perjury and other miscellaneous crime, accounted for 209 reports.

In addition, there were 186 drugs offences, 77 robberies, 51 reports of theft from a person, 49 possession of weapon offences, and 15 bicycle thefts.
